Welcome to the Yomerashi Beatmania IIDX webpage project, "ROOTS26".
There's a lot of information out there on IIDX. Not all of it is in English. We aim to fix that. Wondering why Shem hates people with beards? Confused about the whole Scorpion Fire / ANTI-ARES thing in that DIRGE song from IIDX RED? Heard about Maya's longer version of the Xepher lyrics? Now you can find out!
A lot of people have said, "You should really put up character pictures in the character info pages!" I'm working on it. Sorry for the delay. In the mean time, check out the pictures on HK5061's page, which you can find through the links.
Here's a rough breakdown of what you'll find on this site:
- Per-style information: these areas contain various information on each individual style; for example, song lists, course information, and translations of the new song introductions from Beatmania 2DX arcade page. Naturally, this alone is a lot of information (especially the NEW SONG INTRODUCTION text), so it will take a while for this site to become "complete".
- Character information: background info on the various characters introduced throughout the IIDX series.
- More as we think of stuff to add.
I update as often as I can, so check back every few days, there will probably be something new.
I'd also like to provide a view of Japanese IIDX fan culture for non-native Japanese speakers. One of the things that goes around the Japanese fan sites periodically is a list of 100 questions for IIDX players that you fill out and put on your webpage; the questions change a little bit over time. My filled-out copy is here. You might also enjoy my page of randomness.
